- Pack size to match your adapter: the 10-pack for the Hasselblad 500 EL adapter (5 cells plus spares, or two complete sets), the 12-pack for the Beaulieu R16 / 3008 / 5008 / 4008 (two full sets of 6 each) and for the Canon Scoopic 16 adapter (8 cells plus spares).
- Steady voltage instead of fading alkalines: NiMH with 1000 mAh capacity and 1.2 V per cell, hundreds of charge cycles, no memory effect.
- Charged at the factory, low self-discharge: The cells arrive precharged and, according to the manufacturer, still hold around two thirds of their charge after a year in storage.
- No mixed batches from 4-packs: Standard packs from the drugstore force you to mix cells from different batches. Our pack sizes are matched exactly to the number of cells our adapters take.
Safety instructions
Never charge them in the vintage camera’s original charger. The old charging circuits aren’t designed for NiMH batteries and can destroy the cells or the adapter. Charge them externally in a suitable NiMH charger, such as our 12-slot charger for AA and AAA.

Description
Description
These are the same AAA cells we use in-house to test our Beaulieu, Hasselblad and Scoopic adapters. In 2026 we switched from cheap high-capacity cells to Varta: the capacity matches what’s printed on the cell (independent tests measure around 1000 mAh at 0.2 A), the cells arrive charged, and the internal resistance is lower. For motorized film cameras, that means a more stable voltage under load and fewer surprises on set. The logistics stay simple: the pack size matches the adapter’s cell count, so there’s no cobbling something together from three 4-packs.
