Information pursuant to Section 24 (3) of the German Battery Law Implementation Act (BattDG) in conjunction with Article 74 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 on the take-back of waste batteries and rechargeable batteries:

Crossed-out wheeled bin symbol marking waste batteries

Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicates that batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste but must be disposed of properly. End users are legally obliged to return waste batteries and waste rechargeable batteries.

Waste batteries and waste rechargeable batteries can be returned free of charge at any municipal collection point or at local retailers (for example, supermarkets or drugstores).

You can also return batteries and rechargeable batteries to us free of charge or send them back to us by post with sufficient postage:

Batteries containing pollutants are marked with a symbol consisting of a crossed-out wheeled bin and the chemical symbol of the relevant heavy metal: Cd for cadmium, Hg for mercury, Pb for lead.

Please tape over the terminals of lithium and button cells before returning them, or pack the batteries individually, to prevent short circuits and fires.
