- Lens recognition for Leica M & SL: Allows your digital Leica M, SL2, or SL3 camera to recognize the attached lens and save the focal length in the EXIF data.
- Automatic image correction: The camera can automatically apply corrections for vignetting, chromatic aberration, and distortion.
-
Buy as a set: Optional with matching Edding 8400 marker for reliable results.
- Correct image stabilization: Especially for SL2/SL3 users, the focal length detection ensures the image stabilization is set correctly.
- Simple & safe application: The encoder is simply clipped onto the mount to precisely apply the 6-bit markings with a common fine felt-tip pen. Similar to products from Akara or Match Technical.
- Universal for M-mount: Works with all lenses with Leica M-mount (e.g. also Voigtländer, Zeiss) by using the code of the most similar Leica lens.
Scope of delivery:
a) 1x 6-bit encoder (template for clipping on)
b) 1x 6-bit encoder including matching Edding 8400 marker
Required: 1x permanent matte black marker (e.g. Edding 8400) - optionally available in the complete package. Note: It is important to use a matte marker. Some paints are not read by Leica sensors due to reflections.
Technical specifications:
- Material: PLA+ (technical plastic), 2-component
Description:
With this 6-bit encoder kit, you can easily and quickly encode your non-coded M-mount lenses yourself. The camera then recognizes the focal length, stores it in the metadata, and can apply in-camera image corrections. The coding is temporary and can be removed at any time. Some lenses have a screw at one of the coding positions. This can simply be filled with white paint and then marked black if needed.
Compatibility & Coding Table
Suitable for all lenses with Leica M mount. The following table (based on data from Match Technical, lavidaleica.com, and other community sources) helps in selecting the correct code. If your lens is not listed, you can choose a lens that is closest to yours in focal length and aperture.
