Description
You can complete the Leica 6-bit coding yourself with this encoder kit and code your manual M-mount lenses, whether older Leica, Voigtländer, or Zeiss lenses. Your digital Leica (M, SL, Q with adapter) will then recognize the focal length, store it in the EXIF data, and apply internal image corrections.
We are still learning when it comes to the pen: Many customers had problems with conventional felt-tip pens because their ink often has a glossy finish and reflects the light from the sensors in the mount instead of absorbing it. Others have told us that a tip that is too wide does not fit cleanly through the openings of the stencil and wears out quickly. Which pen solves both best is something we are currently testing together with customers.
The encoder clips onto the mount and serves as a template for coloring in the dots, without drilling. The coding withstands everyday use and can be removed without leaving any residue if needed.
Tip: If there is a screw at a coding position, simply fill it with a dab of white paint and paint over it black afterward if the code requires it.

Die Form der Schablone ist ungenau, zumindest an den drei Linsen von Voigtländer und Thypoch, mit denen ich es probiert habe. Die Nase sitzt falsch und auch der Durchmesser stimmt nicht. Auch die „Anprobe“ an einer Original Leica Linse zeigt, dass die Abmessungen nicht stimmen.
… der Preis ist für ein 3D-gedrucktes Bauteil, dessen Fertigungskosten im niedrigen, einstelligen EUR-Bereich liegen müssen, schon mehr als grenzwertig. Aber der geneigte Anwender hat ja die Wahl zwischen einem original 6-Bit codierten Leica-Glas und der deutlich kostengünstigeren, uncodierten Variante eines Drittherstellers. Und wenn man die Preisersparnis beim Objektivkauf in diese Bewertung mit hineinzieht, dann ist das Gesamtergebnis am Ende immer noch ein guter Deal!
Was aber wirklich ärgerlich ist, ist der mitgelieferte Permanentmarker von Edding (Modell 8400), dessen 1mm Spitze einfach zu dick ist und nicht wirklich durch die Schablonenöffnung passt! Mit viel Druck, kann man die Spitze so einigermaßen durchpressen, aber man muss schon ganz schön „rumnackeln“ damit das Ergebnis auch soweit stimmt, dass der Sensor an der Kamera den Code auch erkennt. Und nach geradeeinmal vier markierten Linsen, sieht die Stiftspitze schon ziemlich ramponiert aus! Also da sollte nachgebessert werden und ein Stift mit einer feineren Spitze mitgeliefert werden…

Schablone an Zeiss Biogon Objektiv mit Leica L to M - Objektiv an CL und SL2 sofort richtig erkannt - Stift funktioniert auch, zumindest bei mir!
Die Schablone funktioniert. Leider war bei der Liefrung nicht der angegebene Edding Stift dabei, sondern ein anderer. Die Farbe des Stifts hält nicht auf dem Metall der Objektive und verwischt. Schade, dass der Lieferung nicht wie beschrieben ist.
Hallo Alexander, danke, dass du das schreibst. Der Grund ist banal: der angegebene Edding war eine Zeit lang nicht lieferbar, deshalb lag übergangsweise ein anderer Stift bei. Dass der auf lackiertem Metall nicht hält, ist genau der Unterschied, der zählt, und die Produktseite hätte in der Zeit angepasst gehört. Wir prüfen gerade eine bessere Alternative zum Edding.
