· Community list, continuously maintained
Have your analog films developed — but where? This list gathers active film labs in Germany that develop your film by shipping or on-site. We do not operate a lab ourselves: we collect the contacts and keep the list updated with the community.
Use the search for lab or city — or filter by federal state, development process (C41, E6, B/W, ECN2 …) and shipping. Clicking the lab name takes you directly to the lab’s website.

Try fewer filters — or post a tip below if you know a lab missing here.
Rough guide per film (35mm, 2026): C41 color negative about 3–7 EUR development, S/W about 6–10 EUR, E6 slide about 9–13 EUR. Scans (depending on resolution) and prints cost extra. Medium format and large format are more expensive. Exact prices are listed on each lab’s page.
What do C41, E6, and S/W mean?
C41 is the standard process for color negative film (most color films). E6 develops slide film (color reversal, e.g. Provia, Velvia, Ektachrome). S/W is black and white and is often developed by hand. ECN2 is the motion picture film process (e.g. Cinestill, re-spooled motion picture film). Filter above by the process your film needs.
Shipping lab or local lab?
Shipping (mail-in) works nationwide: send your film well padded and sufficiently stamped, the result comes back as a scan download and/or prints plus developed negatives. On-site is faster and personal, but limited to the region. Use the filter »Shipping only« if you don’t have a lab nearby.
Developing analog films: an overview
Where can I get my film developed?
In Germany, there are still many specialist labs that professionally develop analogue films — from small B/W hand labs to large mail-order services. The list above compiles active film labs, grouped by federal state and filterable by development process. Many offer shipping, so you can send your film nationwide.
Which process for which film?
C41 — Color negative film (Kodak Gold/Portra, Fuji, Cinestill 800T, and more). The most common process.
E6 — Slide film / color reversal (Fuji Provia, Velvia, Kodak Ektachrome). Only offered by specialized labs now.
B/W — Black and white film. Often hand-developed, many labs offer push/pull and baryta prints.
ECN2 — Original motion picture film process (Motion Picture, re-spooled Vision3 film). Few labs have the chemistry.
Scan, print, or develop only?
Most labs offer development + scan (you get digital files) and optionally prints on photo paper. If you scan yourself, you can often have the film developed only and get the negatives back. Pay attention to scan resolution and file format — these vary greatly by lab.
Can I develop film myself?
Black & white film can be easily developed at home with minimal equipment (tank, chemicals, changing bag), and C41 and E6 can also be done with ready-made kits. For clean results, however, the most important thing is that the negatives are well exposed — a working light meter and a light-tight camera are half the battle. More on that below.

So your next film turns out perfect
The best lab can't save negatives that are already damaged inside the camera. Leaky light seals cause light streaks, a dead light meter causes exposure errors. We design and manufacture custom replacement light seals, battery adapters for old mercury cells (PX625, PX27), and other accessories for analogue cameras.
