- High-current board with gold-plated contacts: transmits short current peaks cleanly so the fuse doesn’t mistake them for a continuous load — the continuous mode runs stably even with sticky motors.
- Powerful high-current batteries: Nitecore 14500 with 3A continuous discharge, 7A surge — no premature shutdown during continuous shooting, unlike Keeppower cells that cut off at about 2A.
- Significantly more capacity, half the weight: more shots per charge than the original NiCd batteries, at about half the weight.
- All three fuses included plus storage box: 0.8A, 1.0A, and 1.25A (slow-blow glass fuses) — you use the one that fits your model, the others stay stored.
- Tool-free change with snap hook: secure hold in the battery compartment, quick swap without tools.
Safety instructions
Important: The batteries must never be charged in the camera’s original charger. Use only the USB-C ports on the cells.
Shipping note (important for international customers)
For regulatory reasons regarding lithium-ion shipping, shipping depends on the scope of delivery (regardless of the chosen Smooth/Wavy surface):
- Complete set (with 3x Nitecore batteries + charging distributor): shipping only within Germany.
- Only cage (with charging distributor, without batteries): worldwide shipping. You buy the three Nitecore NL1411R batteries separately in your country — all sources are listed below in the scope of delivery.
Smooth or Wavy? Which surface fits your camera
The adapter comes in two surfaces — technically identical and fully compatible, the difference is purely visual. The visible outer side becomes part of the left flank of your Rollei body (where the battery sits). Depending on the model generation, this flank is smooth or finely ribbed — choose the surface that fits flush.
- Wavy — the proven version with fine groove texture. It reflects the design of the 6008 family (6008 Professional, Integral, SRC 1000, i, i2, E) and the 6006, and visually fits best on these bodies.
- Smooth — new, flat surface without grooves. The most suitable choice for SLX, 6001, 6002, and 6003, whose original battery ends flush.
Not sure? Just send us a photo of the left side of your camera body (where the battery goes) — we’ll tell you in a minute which surface fits flush. Function and scope of delivery are identical for both versions; the choice is purely aesthetic.
Compatibility
The battery adapter v2 is designed for the Rolleiflex 6000 series. Which fuse belongs in your camera depends on the model — all three fuses are included in the delivery, and you insert the one suitable for your model yourself based on the table.
| Fuse | Compatible cameras |
|---|---|
| 0.8A (medium-blow) | Rolleiflex SLX Rolleiflex 6006 |
| 1.0A (medium-blow) | Rolleiflex 6006 Multi Exposure (also: 6006 model 2) Rolleiflex 6002 |
| 1.25A (slow-blow) | Rolleiflex 6001 Rolleiflex 6001 Professional Rolleiflex 6003 Rolleiflex 6003 Professional Rolleiflex 6003 SRC 1000 Rolleiflex 6008 Rolleiflex 6008 Professional Rolleiflex 6008 Professional SRC 1000 Rolleiflex 6008 i Rolleiflex 6008 i2 Rolleiflex 6008 E |
Special case — not tested ourselves:
- Rolleiflex 6008 AF
- Rolleiflex 6008 Integral 2
- Rolleiflex 6001 RCC
These three models use a NiCd voltage reading circuit in the camera electronics, which historically had recognition problems with Li-Ion cells. We have not tested the v2 adapter with these models ourselves — it is possible that the new high-current board partially or fully solves the problem, but we cannot guarantee it. If you own one of these models and want to try it out: please contact us briefly beforehand. We will discuss the chances of success and offer a fair return in case of failure.

What's new in v2 (May 2026)
The second generation of our battery adapter brings three hardware upgrades — developed after evaluating the first months of sales and direct customer feedback:
- High-current board with gold-plated contacts. The new PCB generation also cleanly handles short current spikes without the fuse mistakenly interpreting them as continuous load. This solves the most common remaining problem of old cameras: when hardened motors started up, micro-triggers used to occur, causing the fuse to trip prematurely — with the new board, the surge current flows cleanly through, and the fuse still protects against real continuous load faults.
- Nitecore 14500 1100mAh USB-C, 3A continuous discharge / 7A surge. The previous Keeppower cells shut off at about 2A continuous current — with a 6008i in continuous mode, or if the grease inside the camera had hardened and the mirror/shutter motor drew more current, that was the limit. The Nitecore cells handle 3A continuously and tolerate short current spikes up to 7A. This ensures even an unserviced camera works reliably.
- All three fuses + storage box included. Instead of one fuse per variant, you now get the complete set (0.8A, 1.0A, 1.25A) in a small hard plastic box. You insert the fuse that fits your model into the cage yourself; the others stay safely stored in case you add another camera from the 6000 series later or need to replace the fuse.
Which 14500 battery? Our comparison
We recommend the Nitecore NL1411R for the adapter — and not just on a whim. Before deciding, we tested several 14500 cells in the cage: Keeppower P1413TC, Keeppower P1450C4, Fenix ARB-L14, Manker 14500 (920 mAh), and various cheap no-name cells from Amazon.
| Cell | Capacity | USB charging port + protection (BMS) | Continuous current (manufacturer specification) | Max. pulse/surge current (manufacturer specification) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nitecore NL1411R (our choice) | 1100 mAh (3.96 Wh) | USB-C, yes | 3 A | 7 A — specified |
| Keeppower P1413TC | 1300 mAh | USB-C, yes | 2.0 A | not specified |
| Keeppower P1450C4 | 1500 mAh | no USB port (external charging), yes | no manufacturer specification | not specified |
| Fenix ARB-L14-1600U | 1600 mAh, but only 1.5 V (regulated) | Micro-USB, yes | — | not specified |
| Manker 14500 USB-C | 920 mAh (3.4 Wh) | USB-C, yes | no manufacturer specification | not specified |
| Various no-name (Amazon) | highly variable, often exaggerated | sometimes USB-C, BMS unclear | usually no datasheet | not specified |
Note on the Fenix ARB-L14-1600U: This USB variant internally outputs only 1.5 V (regulated to AA voltage via DC/DC converter) — therefore it is not suitable for our 3-pack with 3.6 V cells (total 11.1 V). When choosing Fenix, make sure to get a real 3.6 V 14500 cell.
The decisive factor is the maximum pulse/surge current. When triggering, during mirror slap, and at motor start, the Rollei draws short, strong current peaks — the short-term surge current counts here, not just the continuous current. The Nitecore NL1411R is the only cell in the test whose manufacturer even specifies this value: 7 A briefly. This is also confirmed to us by the official Nitecore distributor in Germany (KTL):
“The NL1411R can deliver a surge current of 7A briefly, which the Manker probably cannot. The technical specification of ‘maximum pulse current’ or ‘overcurrent protection current’ is decisive here, but actually irrelevant for the standard customer. The latter specification can be researched in the data sheet of most cells for very specialized inquiries. That’s why such a specification is rarely found online.”
USB charging port means: built-in protection circuit (BMS). Every 14500 cell with its own USB charging port comes with a small protection electronics (often called "BMS") — it sits between the cell and contacts and protects against deep discharge, overcharge, and voltage spikes. This is exactly what you want in a 30-year-old camera electronics. Simple 14500 Li-Ion cells without protection circuit also work — they are often cheaper and sometimes deliver higher maximum currents because the current doesn’t have to pass through the small circuit board first. The catch: no protection against deep discharge or voltage spikes. We recommend protected cells with USB charging port; unprotected ones are for tinkerers who know exactly what they’re doing.
What to do if the fuse trips in continuous mode?
If your camera trips the fuse in continuous mode with the correct fuse (see compatibility table above), this is almost always a sign of hardened grease inside the camera — the focus motor, mirror, and shutter then draw significantly more current than originally intended. Recommendation: schedule a service (CLA) at a specialized workshop like Wiese Fototechnik. During this, the aging capacitors on the camera board are also checked — this is the most common real cause of failure in the 6000 series.
As a temporary solution at your own risk, you can use the next higher fuse rating (e.g., 1.0A instead of 0.8A for an SLX). This slightly reduces the protection level — in case of damage, the fuse will trip later, which in the worst case can affect the camera board. Acceptable for a transition period until service, but not recommended permanently.
Why this battery is safe
- Three individual batteries, no series charging: Each cell is charged individually via its USB-C port. This eliminates the main risk of poor DIY adapters (overvoltage, fire hazard due to missing balancing).
- BMS in every cell: Protection against overcharge, deep discharge, and overheating — integrated directly in the Nitecore cell.
- Model-specific fuse: The slow-blow glass fuse matching your model protects the camera board from real defects (short circuit, component failure).
- High-current board v2: Separates surge currents (short, normal load peaks) from continuous load (real defects). This keeps the protection intact without the fuse tripping falsely during normal operation.
Important: The batteries must never be charged in the camera’s original charger. Use only the USB-C ports on the cells.
