Safety notes

With high-speed films (ISO 800+), e.g. Delta 3200 or P3200, take particular care. These films are more sensitive to stray light.

Description

Getting fresh film for your Minox EC, B or any other Minox 8x11 is getting harder and harder: the original new old stock film is becoming ever rarer and more expensive, and on eBay you often only find expired leftovers. With this 4-part cartridge, you use a suitable film slitter to cut any fresh 35mm or 120 film down to 9.2 mm width and load it yourself: Kodak Gold, Ilford HP5 or whatever else you like.

The cartridge holds a maximum of 36 exposures. Don't try to load longer films (e.g. 50 exposures). The mechanical tolerances of Minox cameras are not designed for that. Allow for 2 blank exposures at the end of the film as a safety buffer.

Note

As with all Minox cartridges, including the originals, the following applies:

• Always change film in subdued light, never in direct sunlight. Minox also recommends this in the original instruction manual.
• Put the cartridge into the included storage case immediately after removing it.

Field test: results from the community

An experienced Minox photographer tested this cartridge in a Minox A with ISO 200 film and had the results developed by a professional lab. Three points were checked:

• Light tightness: No problems in subdued light (as recommended by Minox). With deliberate extreme exposure (EV 15, direct midday sun), minimal light leakage shows at the end of the film, which is not relevant with correct handling.
• Film transport: Even negative spacing, no increased resistance.
• Scratches: No scratches on the developed film.

Note: Results may vary depending on camera condition, film type and handling. We recommend always changing film in subdued light.
