The bayonet of the Rollei SL66 series defines the shape: the rear cap fits onto the lens mount and covers the rear glass element. Whether Zeiss Distagon, Planar, Sonnar, or Tele-Tessar — the cap fits every lens with an SL66 mount and sits firmly as long as the lens is not attached to the camera.

This way, the sensitive rear element is protected in the bag instead of being exposed to dust and dirt.
