- Independent of the film market: Instead of expensive or sold-out ready-made films, you load your cassettes yourself with 16mm film and reduce costs to under 3 euros per roll.
- Load any emulsion yourself: Cut 35mm or 120 roll film (e.g., Kodak Portra, Ilford HP5+) down to 16mm or use native 16mm cine film directly.
- Secure loading thanks to winding spool: The included spool guides the film tightly into the feed chamber without creasing and without losing the film end.
- ISO notch for exposure: In delivery condition, the camera recognizes normal film; after breaking off the breakaway tab, it switches to high-speed ISO 400 film.
Compatibility
The cassette fits mechanically into any 110 pocket camera. What matters is whether you use perforated or unperforated film: with unperforated film (e.g., bulk film from a film cutter), camera systems react differently to the missing perforation holes.
- Pure shutter release systems: The camera fires without issues (e.g., Minox 110S, Canon 110ED). Suitable for unperforated film.
- Limited systems (Pentax Auto 110): The shutter fires without perforation. However, the film transport stop mechanism needs a perforation hole to stop precisely. Without perforation, images on the negative partially overlap.
- Problem systems (Rollei A110 / E110): These cameras advance film with every push-pull movement. Without perforation, no mechanism locks in place, causing you to lose a lot of film area when closing the housing.
Cameras with film transport gear (e.g., Agfamatic): see section “Film transport stop edge” below.

Description
Anyone who wants to continue using a Pentax Auto 110 or another 110 pocket camera faces the same problem: 110 films are hardly available and expensive. With this refillable film cassette, you load any emulsion yourself instead. You cut 35mm or 120 roll film down to 16mm or use 16mm movie film directly and are no longer dependent on the few ready-made materials on the market.
You adjust the cassette to your camera and film sensitivity via the ISO notch and the lower break point. The version with a view window shows you the frame number and protects against housing friction; the version without a view window can be loaded faster in the dark.
How to load it correctly

Tightly wind your cut film onto the small take-up spool and push it compactly into the left feed chamber of the cassette. The spool forces the film into the correct position and prevents it from unwinding again when closing the cassette.
Set ISO and exposure

110 cameras control exposure via the standardized ISO notch on the cassette. In the delivery state, the camera recognizes normal film (typically ISO 64–100, depending on the camera manufacturer). If you break off the flat edge at the break point, the camera switches to high-speed film (ISO 400). This calibrates the light meter to the actual sensitivity of the loaded emulsion.
Film transport break edge

Some 110 cameras (like Agfamatic) have a film transport gear (sprocket) on the bottom that engages with a gap in the original cassette. If this plastic edge is present, the gear can block. By breaking off this lower break point, enough space is created for the gear — the cassette works flawlessly.
Practical tip: Recognize the end of the film without a view window
Missing the view window for the frame counter on the closed cassette? Fold the very last end of the film double and insert a tiny piece of a cocktail stick into the fold. The thickening can no longer leave the feed chamber — if the transport blocks, you know the roll is full.
