Description
The original PX450 mercury battery has long been banned and is no longer available. This adapter is the spacer that lets your camera run on zinc-air hearing aid batteries (type 675) instead, without any modification. The cells deliver a constant 1.4V and come very close to the original mercury voltage of 1.35V, so your light meter gives accurate readings.
Getting replacements is no problem: you can buy type 675 batteries at any drugstore (dm, Rossmann & Co.) or online.
Note on use: zinc-air batteries need oxygen to activate. Remove the protective sticker and wait about one minute before inserting the battery into the adapter.
Frequently asked questions
How does the spacer work? It holds a type 675 zinc-air cell and brings it to the format of the no longer available PX450. This gets the light meter of your Bolex or Alpa running again on 1.4V.
How many batteries are included? Six type 675 zinc-air cells in a blister pack. You can get replacements as hearing aid batteries at any pharmacy or drugstore.
Which cameras does it fit? The Bolex H8 and H16 as well as the Alpa 6c and 9d. It replaces the designations PX450, RM450, E-450, EPX450 and V450PX.

Support a young startup
You want innovative solutions instead of mass-produced goods? With us, you don’t buy from an anonymous wholesaler, but directly from the founders. We (Anto & Vladi) started our startup in 2019 in Würzburg to help you revive analog photography.
Developed by engineers
Designed in Würzburg
We don’t sell anything we wouldn’t use ourselves. We are engineers and camera nerds, and we know that precision is especially important in camera technology. That’s why we design our parts ourselves in Würzburg, and we print and assemble most of them here too. Batteries and rechargeables come from other manufacturers, for example Varta.
