  • M42 lenses on your Nikonos: fits Nikonos V, III, and IV-A — full list under Compatibility.
  • Focusing: Since Nikonos cameras don’t have a rangefinder, you need to estimate the distance (zone focusing). With fast M42 lenses, the shallow depth of field often leads to misfocus.
  • Warning, loss of diving capability: The adapter causes the system to lose its pressure resistance. M42 lenses are not waterproof, so moisture can enter through the focus ring.
  • Viewfinder: The internal viewfinder is designed for 35mm. For other focal lengths, the framing is off, requiring an external viewfinder.

Note

This adapter is designed exclusively for use on land or as splash protection. It is not suitable for diving and is not pressure-resistant.
