Description
Without a lens hood, the Sonnar lens of your Rollei 35S or 35SE produces flat, low-contrast images when light hits it from the side. This lens hood shades the lens and blocks stray light before it reaches the front element.
30,5mm filters are hard to find these days. That is why the front has a 40,5mm thread, onto which you can screw modern filters and lens caps. The hood locks firmly into the camera's 30,5mm thread and protects the glass from bumps and scratches.
