- Fresh standard film instead of eBay leftovers: Kodak Gold, Ilford HP5, Portra 400, or Tri-X, cut to 9.2 mm with a film slitter and loaded yourself, instead of increasingly rare old stock, which is often expired film.
- Four loads from one 35mm roll: One 35mm roll is enough for up to four cassette loads. You pay only the film price instead of €30–50 for an old original cassette.
- As light-tight as the original: Confirmed by customers in practical use; no light leaks when changing film in subdued light.
- Clean, scratch-free negatives: Consistent frame spacing, smooth film transport, and no scratches in an independent test and in customers’ hands.
- Storage container included: Light-tight and holds the cassette immediately after removal.
Safety instructions
Extra caution is required when using high-speed films (ISO 800+), such as Delta 3200 or P3200. These films are more sensitive to stray light.
Compatibility
- Minox A, B, BL, C, EC, fully compatible
- Minox LX, TLX, CLX, MX, fully compatible (the cassette supports automatic frame-counter resetting)
- Sharan, compatible
- Ataron, compatible
- VEF Riga: Not recommended. The cassette can be inserted with pressure, but removal is problematic; attached covers may remain inside the camera. Depends on the individual condition of the camera.

Description
Getting fresh film for your Minox EC, B, or another Minox 8x11 is becoming increasingly difficult: Original new-old-stock film is becoming rarer and more expensive, and on eBay you often find only expired leftover stock. With this 4-piece cassette, you can cut any fresh 35mm or 120 film to a width of 9.2 mm using a suitable film slitter and load it yourself: Kodak Gold, Ilford HP5, or whatever else you want.
The cassette holds a maximum of 36 exposures. Do not try to load longer films (e.g. 50 exposures). The mechanical tolerances of Minox cameras are not designed for this. Plan for 2 blank exposures at the end of the film as a safety buffer.
You can find detailed instructions for cutting and loading film at moments-of-now.com.
Note
As with all Minox cassettes, including the originals:
- Always change film in subdued light, never in direct sunlight. Minox also recommends this in the original instruction manual.
- Place the cassette in the included storage container immediately after removing it.
Practical test: Results from the community
An experienced Minox photographer tested this cassette in a Minox A with ISO 200 film and had the results developed at a professional lab. Three points were examined:
- Light tightness: No problems in subdued light (as recommended by Minox). Under deliberate extreme exposure (EV 15, direct midday sun), minimal light leakage appears at the end of the film, but this is not relevant with correct handling.
- Film transport: Consistent negative spacing, with no increased resistance.
- Scratches: No scratches on the developed film.

Note: Results may vary depending on the condition of the camera, film type, and handling. We generally recommend changing film in subdued light.

Well made hard tind item .
Empfehlung!
Interessanter Artikel, funktioniert wie beschrieben. Korrekte Abwicklung, schneller Versand. Gerne wieder!
Reviews in Other Languages
Tried to use film strip cut with Ausgeknipst 120 to Minox slitter (120 film to 6x9.2mm, see my review of that slitter, too). The slitter produces too wide film for Minox use. Also these cassettes are too narrow for the film strips from the slitter so after placing the film into the cassette, film does not move at all in these. Not recommended!
Sorry, film that will not move at all once it is in the cassette makes the whole setup useless, and that is on us. Our cassettes are made for a 9.2 mm strip, so a wider one from the slitter binds exactly the way you describe. If it still does not run for you, write to info@ausgeknipst.de and we will find the fix together.
