IMPORTANT: This is the individual Top Plate (format mask) only. It can only be used in combination with the matching Base Plate from the main set.

• Expansion for your film scanner set: This offer includes the Top Plate only. You need a 35mm Base Plate from our Film Scanner Set 35mm as the foundation. Simply attach it magnetically and switch film formats.
• Masking for half-frame: With the standard mask, the exposure window is too large for half-frame negatives, causing stray light at the edges. The Half Frame Top Plate masks the area precisely to 18×24mm.
• Quick change: Lift off magnetically and place the new Top Plate on top: switch in under 2 seconds.

Description

The Half Frame Top Plate masks the exposure window precisely to 18×24mm, optimized for Olympus Pen, Canon Demi, and other half-frame cameras. Magnetic attachment enables a change between Standard, Half Frame, and Panorama in seconds.

Which set is suitable as the base depends on the film format: for 35mm and half-frame, the Film Scanner Set 35mm is the right foundation. This Top Plate expands it with the half-frame mask.

Half-frame cameras expose two images on a single 35mm negative, turning a 36-exposure roll into 72 images. When digitizing, masking to 18×24mm therefore pays off twice: no stray light at the edges, and each image is captured cleanly on its own.
