  • Replacement for the defective original battery pack: Battery holder for 7 standard AA rechargeable batteries plus the included dummy, so your Metz handle-mount flash stays in use even though the frequently failing original packs are no longer available.
  • Included dummy closes the circuit: It bridges the eighth slot in the holder; without the dummy the adapter delivers no power, and it never goes in the charger.
  • Short flash recycling times: approx. 12-15s at full power and over 300 flashes per charge.

Safety notes

  • Important safety notice: Designed for 7x AA + dummy. The rechargeable batteries must always be charged externally. NEVER charge them via the flash generator (fire hazard!).
  • The included AA dummy is NOT a battery and must NOT be charged. It must still be placed in the holder: it bridges the eighth slot and closes the circuit.

Technical details

  • Capacity: holds 7x AA cells + 1x dummy

Description

If your Metz 76 MZ-5 or 70 MZ-5 no longer delivers power, the old battery pack is usually to blame, and original replacements have long been unavailable. This battery holder takes over the power supply with seven rechargeable AA batteries, which you can buy individually at any time.

The included AA dummy is important: the holder is designed for 7 cells plus the dummy. The dummy is not a battery and does not get charged. It sits in the eighth slot and closes the circuit. Without it, the adapter supplies no power.

To fit it, line up the two triangle markings on the cap and the flash housing and lock the holder with a push-and-twist motion. The holder has no charging circuitry for the generator connection: you always charge the batteries in an external charger.
