Description

The PX825 battery (also known as V825PX or LR53) has been off the market for years — your camera still needs it though. This adapter bridges the gap in the battery compartment: you insert a standard LR44 or SR44 button cell, and the camera instantly has power again.

We built the adapter from conductive plastic so it works without loose contacts. No voltage conversion is needed, since the original PX825 also supplied 1.5V. With an SR44 (silver oxide), the light meter works as intended.

Frequently asked questions

How can a plastic adapter conduct electricity? The adapter is made of conductive plastic. So the current flows through the adapter itself, without you needing to modify anything on the camera. It holds a standard LR44 or SR44 and brings it to the format of the no longer available PX825.

The adapter sits loosely, what can I do? After more than fifty years, the battery compartments of the Minolta 16 QT are often worn out or slightly corroded. Carefully clean the contacts in the compartment, often that's enough. If it's still loose, write to us, we'll find a solution.

Why are two adapters included? Because cameras in this series need two cells, and one adapter alone won't do you any good. You can get replacement cells anywhere, you only need to buy the adapter itself once.
