The Minolta M-Rokkor 40mm f/2 (CLE version) is an excellent lens — however, the original lens hoods for it are hard to find. We designed this hood to functionally replace the original: it screws directly into the 40.5mm filter thread, protects the front element from shocks, and minimizes disturbing reflections.
