Description

A 39mm lens hood does not automatically fit your Leica 40mm: The filter thread on the Summicron-C 40mm does not correspond to the common E39 standard (0.5 mm pitch), but instead follows the “Series 5.5” standard with a steeper thread pitch (0.75 mm). Screwing standard accessories onto it risks damaging the thread.

This lens hood is precisely designed for this special size — as a replacement for the original Leica rubber lens hood No. 12518. It screws on smoothly, blocks stray light and preserves the classic look of your equipment.
