  • Clear contrast without flares: The protruding hood blocks stray light coming in from the side.
  • Matte interior against reflections: The inner surface absorbs reflections and stays matte even with scratches, unlike older metal hoods.
  • Protection for the front element: The protruding rim keeps the glass safe from bumps and scratches.
  • Filters stay usable: With the 62mm front thread, you can screw larger filters or caps directly onto the front.

Compatibility

Fits all lenses with 50mm focal length and 52mm filter thread, for example:

  • Nikon Series E 50mm f/1.8
  • Yashica ML 50mm f/1.9 / f/1.7
  • Canon FD 50mm (versions with 52mm thread)
  • Minolta MD 50mm (versions with 52mm thread)

Scope of delivery

1x lens hood (52mm mount)

Technical details

  • Material: engineering plastic
  • Colour: black
  • Mount: 52mm thread
  • Front thread: 62mm (step-up function)

Description

This lens hood with 52mm mount shields your 50mm prime lens from stray light coming in from the side, keeping contrast and sharpness high even in backlight.

The 62mm front thread keeps the option of mounting filters while also adapting to a larger, common diameter. The shape replicates the original Nikon HR-2 lens hood. Made in-house in Germany.

After a purchase we ask for a review by email. New reviews appear automatically; we read them afterwards and never remove one because of its star rating. “Verified purchase” means the review came through the review link of an order in our shop. “Verified” marks older reviews that our previous review service, Judge.me, had labelled as verified. Reviews imported from Amazon are labelled and not included in the average. How we collect and check reviews

We don’t sell anything we wouldn’t use ourselves. We are engineers and camera nerds, and we know that precision is especially important in camera technology. That’s why we design our parts ourselves in Würzburg, and we print and assemble most of them here too. Batteries and rechargeables come from other manufacturers, for example Varta.
