- Load film without removing the spool: A replacement for the original Leica SPOOM take-up spool (14022). The film engages directly with the spool while it stays in the camera, so you no longer have to take it out to load.
- Quick loading with the tulip system: This spool brings the Leica M6’s tulip loading system (petal design) to your classic M1, M2, M3 or IIIg.
- Pin for automatic frame counter reset: On the M3 version only, a pin extends when you turn the camera over. It lets you lift the spool slightly and trigger the frame counter reset.

Which version do I need? For the Leica M3, choose the M3 version: it has a pin for the automatic frame counter reset. For the M1, M2 and IIIg, choose the M1 / M2 / IIIg version.
Will the spool fit a Leica IIIf or an earlier Barnack? No. There’s a separate version of the spool for the Leica I to IIIf.

Ich finde es toll dass es jemanden gibt der sich um scheinbare Kleinigkeiten um das Fotografieren herum kümmert. Dabei sind es oft die, die einem nochdaslwtzte Quentchen verschaffen, um happy zu sein. So wie die perfekte Spule ke zur M3, die mir hilft, beim Ausseneinsatzdie die M3 wie eine M6 handzuhaben verbunden mit der Freude des Fotografen diese edle Kamera ausführen zu können.

Hi Yves, thanks for the honest review, and sorry that loading took more practice than expected. You're right, the leader doesn't always catch in the spool on the first try. What helps: before closing the camera, advance once and check that the film is held between the petals. If it still won't catch, write to us at info@ausgeknipst.de, and you'll get a new spool or a refund if you send it back.
