Original Leica Reference: Modern quick-load alternative to the original Leica SPOOM take-up spool (catalog no. 14021). Allows much faster film loading than the original spool.


  • Trouble loading film? Adapts the proven M6 "Rapid Load" design (tulip system) for your classic Leica.
  • Remove spool? Thanks to the design, the spool no longer needs to be removed from the camera to load film.
  • M3 special feature? The M3 version has an integrated gravity pin that makes resetting the frame counter easier when changing film.

Description

This spool significantly modernizes the handling of your Leica M1, M2, M3 & Leica or IIIg. It replaces the original 14260 take-up spool and brings the convenience of the Leica M6 & Leica into your camera body. The "Petal" design securely and quickly grips the film without needing to remove the spool from the camera.

Special attention was paid to details especially for the Leica M3 & Leica MP & Leica: An integrated pin extends when the camera is turned upside down. This allows the spool to be easily lifted to trigger the automatic frame counter reset of the M3 without sacrificing comfort.

Here is the LTM (Barnack) version of the spool (Leica I-IIIf).
