Metal rod and spring are not included: both sit in the camera and usually remain intact when the old door breaks. The new door attaches to the existing metal rod.

Description
A broken battery compartment cover on the Canon A-1 (and its sister models AE-1, AE-1 Program and AT-1) quickly renders the camera unusable. This replacement cover solves the problem and gets your camera working again. Version 2 (from July 2025) has been structurally redesigned and fits more securely than earlier versions.
The snap hook is permanently built into our door, so the screw is not needed. When installing, make sure that the metal rod the original door is attached to, and the small spring inside the metal rod, are still present.

Ohne den original Metallstab mit der kleinen Feder kaum zu gebrauchen
Ich dachte, der wäre mit im Lieferumfang... schade. Jetzt muss ich mir etwas basteln, damit der Deckel angebracht werden kann. Bei meiner Kamera ist der Metallstab mit der Feder nämlich nicht mehr vorhanden.

es tut uns echt leid, dass du Probleme mit unserem Produkt hattest. Wir entschuldigen uns für die Unannehmlichkeiten. Normalerweise haben die Leute die Feder und den Stab. Falls er fehlt muss man wohl oder übel eine alte defekte Kamera kaufen und zerlegen.
