  • Replacement for the defective original battery pack: Battery holder for 7 standard AA rechargeable batteries plus the included dummy, keeping your Metz handle-mount flash in service even though the frequently failed original packs are no longer available.
  • Included dummy closes the circuit: It bridges the eighth position in the holder. Without the dummy, the adapter supplies no power, and it must never be placed in the charger.

Safety instructions

  • Important safety notice: Designed for 7x AA + dummy. The rechargeable batteries must always be charged externally. NEVER charge them via the flash generator (fire hazard!).
  • The included AA dummy is NOT a battery and must NOT be charged. Nevertheless, it must always be inserted into the holder: it bridges the eighth position and closes the circuit.

Description

If your Metz 76 MZ-5 or 70 MZ-5 no longer delivers sufficient power, the old battery pack is usually to blame, and original replacements have not been available for a long time. This battery holder supplies power using seven rechargeable AA batteries, which you can purchase individually at any time.

The included AA dummy is important: The holder is designed for 7 cells plus a dummy. The dummy is not a battery and must not be charged. It occupies the eighth position and closes the circuit. Without it, the adapter supplies no power.

To install it, align the two triangular markings on the cover and flash housing, then lock the holder with a push-and-twist motion. The holder has no charging electronics for the generator connection: Always charge the batteries in an external charger.
