Description
Description
This battery adapter replaces the 4.5 V Eveready 531 (also PX19 or V19PX) in Polaroid Land Cameras such as the 100, 220, 250 or 340. It holds three LR44 button cells, which together deliver the 4.5 V of the original. It does not fit the models 103, 104, 210, 320 and 420 or the 350, 360 and 450 with electronic development timer, which run on the 3 V PX24 battery (No. 532).
The Eveready 531 is hardly available anymore today, yet it was the round heart of many older Polaroid cameras. Without it, the shutter and light metering do not work.
The adapter has the correct snap connectors (similar to a 9V block battery, but in a different design) and fits exactly into the battery compartment of the models listed above.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Does the adapter fit my Polaroid Land Camera? It replaces the Eveready 531 or PX19 and fits the models that were built for this battery, including the Automatic 100 and the 220. For the models with the 532, you need the PX24 adapter.
Which batteries go in? Three LR44 at 1.5V each, together giving the 4.5V of the original. They are included and can be bought anywhere.
The shutter still does not respond, why is that? After decades, these cameras often have corroded contacts in the battery compartment or aged wiring inside the body. Clean the contacts first. If the problem persists, it is not due to the power supply.

Support a young startup
You want innovative solutions instead of mass-produced goods? With us, you don’t buy from an anonymous wholesaler, but directly from the founders. We (Anto & Vladi) started our startup in October 2021 in Würzburg to help you revive analog photography.
Developed by engineers
Designed in Würzburg
We don’t sell anything we wouldn’t use ourselves. We are engineers and camera nerds, and we know that precision is especially important in camera technology. That’s why we design our parts ourselves in Würzburg, and we make and assemble most of them here too. Batteries and rechargeables come from other manufacturers, for example Varta.
