So our designer Lars simply developed this minimalist film holder for scanning or digitizing 120 medium format negatives.
The part consists of 3 pieces:
1. Baseplate
2. Household rubber bands
3. Interchangeable topplates serve as mask frames for the different film formats:
a) 6x6 set includes baseplate, rubber bands & 6x6 topplate
b) Optional topplates are available separately if needed: 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7 & 6x9
The function is quite simple:
- Select topplate according to format
- Fix with rubber bands
- Press the two parts apart at the small side notches
- Insert film
- Place on a suitable light source (we use a battery-powered LED light panel with a good CRI rating ourselves)
- Clamp DSLR, mirrorless, or smartphone on a tripod
- Scanning
- Done!
