Good to know

Without a battery, all shutter speeds including B remain usable, but the light meter doesn’t work. [1]

The shutter is fully mechanical and keeps working even with a dead or missing battery. [1]

The light meter switches on when you take off the lens cap, so keep the cap on whenever you’re not using the camera. [1]
