Description

This battery compartment cover replaces the battery door of the Canon AL-1 (QF), which almost always breaks, as an identically shaped reproduction. It is designed to solve the problem for good, and the screws for the metal contact are included.

For installation you need the metal contact from your original battery door. Depending on the year of manufacture, this contact is either glued or screwed on. If it is glued, drill the necessary holes for the included screws with a fine 2mm drill bit to screw the metal contact onto the new door. The cover itself, as with the original, is held in place by the existing pin or screws; only the latch works without a spring and sits by friction fit. Installation takes just a few minutes.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need from the old battery door? The metal contact. You screw it onto the new door with the three included screws (M1.4 x 2.5 mm).

What do I do if the contact is glued? Depending on the year of manufacture, it is glued instead of screwed. In that case, you drill the holes for the screws with a fine 2 mm drill bit.

Why doesn't the cover have a spring? Like the original, it is held in place by the existing pin or the screws, and the latch holds by friction fit.
