  • Delivers the correct metering voltage: The zinc-air battery replaces the no longer available 1,35V PX625 mercury battery with 1,4V and keeps the light meter within the correct measuring range.
  • Centres the battery in the compartment: The rubber ring positions the smaller 675 cell centrally in the larger PX625 battery compartment.
  • Correct readings instead of incorrect exposure: Unlike standard 1,5V alkaline cells, the voltage is close to the original 1,35V, so the readings are accurate.
  • Camera ready to use again: Classics that sat unused for a long time for lack of a suitable battery work again with the adapter and a 675 cell.

Technical details

  • Compatibility: only for battery compartments with contacts at the top and bottom

Description

The PX625 battery adapter brings the light meter of your Rollei 35, Olympus OM-1, Canon F-1 or Minolta SRT back into the correct metering range: the original PX625 mercury battery with 1.35V is no longer available, and a modern 1.5V alkaline cell produces inaccurate readings. The rubber ring centres a smaller 675 zinc-air cell in the larger PX625 battery compartment, which at 1.4V is close to the original voltage.

Frequently asked questions

“Does the adapter fit every PX625 battery compartment?”

No. It only works in cameras that pick up the battery current at the top and bottom. If your camera picks it up from the side, you need a different adapter.

“Why not a regular 1.5V alkaline cell?”

The higher voltage distorts the readings and leads to incorrect exposures. The zinc-air cell delivers 1.4V, which is close to the original 1.35V.

“How do I activate the zinc-air cell?”

Remove the sticker, as the cell needs air to work. Then wait briefly and insert it.

“How long does a cell last?”

About 3 to 6 months after activation.

“How many adapters and batteries are included?”

The Standard variant includes 2x O-ring adapters and 1x battery pack with 6 cells of type 675.

    PX625 battery adapter

What a simple and great idea ! This solved an "open" question! More than just recommended, it should be essential to be able to use some of the older cameras that needed the "PX625" (alternatively, what also works beautifully is the adapter for the "A675").

After a purchase we ask for a review by email. New reviews appear automatically; we read them afterwards and never remove one because of its star rating. “Verified purchase” means the review came through the review link of an order in our shop. “Verified” marks older reviews that our previous review service, Judge.me, had labelled as verified. Reviews imported from Amazon are labelled and not included in the average. How we collect and check reviews
