Description

This adapter brings the PX14 back to life in your Super 8 camera or light meter: It has the dimensions of the old 2.7-volt dual cell (also known as V14PX or 2MR9), so it fits into the battery compartment without any modifications. Since mercury batteries are no longer available, we designed this adapter. It holds two 675 hearing-aid batteries (zinc-air), available from drugstores. Their extremely stable discharge curve of 1.35 V per cell adds up to the required 2.7 V. Your light meter will work like it did on day one again.

The adapter requires two cells per installation. The six included batteries therefore provide three complete sets. The refill pack contains only the six batteries, not an adapter.

Does the adapter really replace the old 2MR9? Yes. At 16.3 x 15.8 mm, it has the original's dimensions and replaces the designations PX14, EPX14, V14PX, 2MR9, and H-2D.

How do I activate the zinc-air cells? Remove the protective foil and wait one to two minutes before inserting the cell. It needs oxygen to reach its operating voltage. Unopened, the cells last for several years, so only remove the foil when you need to use them.
