The A14PX or PX14A is a mercury-free replacement for the formerly popular mercury oxide cell PX14 or EPX14, which was commonly used in cameras. Mercury cells are now banned due to toxicity and environmental concerns. The 2x 675 cells produce a constant 2.8 volts of voltage, which under load drops to exactly 2.7 V = exactly what the original mercury cells provided.
