Description

The light seal around the film window on the back of the camera allows you to read the loaded film without letting light enter the camera body. However, the original foam seal around it often deteriorates after decades. Sticky crumbs then end up inside the camera or on the emulsion, and where gaps develop, light leaks occur: light reaches the film directly and leaves red streaks on your photos.

This replacement seal made of durable EVA foam adheres in the same position and fits the Leica R Series as well as many premium compact cameras from Contax, Ricoh, and Konica. Since the window dimensions of many analog cameras are similar, it can be trimmed with scissors to fit cameras with slightly different dimensions. You receive two pieces, so you have one as a spare or for a second camera.
