Compatibility

Not limited to specific camera models: The adapter is attached with adhesive and only requires a flat surface on the camera’s top plate; we tested it on our Leica M3. Accessories with a standard mounting foot (cold shoe foot) can be mounted, including:

  • External light meters with mounting feet
  • Hot shoe viewfinders
  • Spirit levels and other cold shoe accessories

Description

This cold shoe adapter adds a second accessory shoe to your camera, allowing you to use an external light meter and an external viewfinder simultaneously. It is attached to the camera body with adhesive and provides two cold shoe mounts side by side, onto which you slide both devices. The approx. 32 mm spacing keeps the meter and viewfinder apart.

The cold shoe is passive and does not transmit anything electrically; it serves purely as a holder. We tested the adapter on our Leica M3.

Note: The 3M adhesive tape holds firmly, but the mounted accessories should be lightweight. Flash units or other accessories with significant leverage are not suitable for the adhesive-mounted adapter. It is intended for lightweight accessories such as light meters, viewfinders, or spirit levels.
