Film Scanner Set for 35mm Sprocket

• Optimized for sprocket scans: Dedicated base and top, flat film in both modes, with and without visible perforation.
• Feed the film through from the side: Insert the entire roll from the side, advance it frame by frame, and pull it out on the other side. The Top Plate stays in place. You only need to lift it for short snippets and when changing formats.

• Flat film path without glass: The Dual-S curve keeps the strip flat across its entire width: sharpness right into the corners, without glass plates and without Newton Rings.

For 35mm only: There is no equivalent for 120 medium format, and none is planned. With wider roll film, the edge is the area where the holder guides the strip; a window covering the full width would remove this guidance and allow the film to sag. For medium format, getting flatness right to the edges requires two glasses with an anti-Newton coating.

You need a tripod head for the Copy Stand

This applies to the Full Set; the Basic and Pro Sets do not include a Copy Stand. The Copy Stand has a 3/8" screw on top; a tripod head is not included. The setup is: Copy Stand, tripod head on top, camera on top of that. The joint lets you align the camera exactly parallel to the negative, which is why the profile does not have a fixed camera mount.

Practically any ball or geared head will fit, since 3/8" is the standard on the underside of the head. If you have a tripod, simply unscrew the head and use it here. If you do not have your own head, our leveling base attaches directly to the 3/8" screw.

Description

With this modular film holder for 35mm, you can digitize your 35mm negatives, including the perforation (sprocket holes), with a DSLR or mirrorless camera. The Base Plate guides the film through a channel with a Dual-S curve that keeps the strip flat across its entire width. The film is touched only at the two edges, leaving the image area clear. In normal operation, you feed the strip into the channel from the side, advance it frame by frame, and pull it out on the other side. The magnetic Top Plate stays in place. You only need to lift it for short snippets that cannot be fed through and when changing formats: the Top Plate is the mask.

Compared with a solution that uses only a Sprocket Top on a standard base, this set guides the film across the entire perforation width for standard 35mm scans, not just at the edges. This keeps the film evenly flat in both scan modes: with and without visible perforation.
