Note for MIVALO users: If you use the Durst MIVALO punch registration system for Contact Masks, your original Durst masks with the pin cutouts remain the right choice. These masks are made for the standard enlarging workflow.

Description

In the Femoneg negative holder of your Durst L-1200, the film runs between two mask halves that press it flat in the image plane: one upper and one lower. Without both parts, the film is not held securely; 35mm film in particular tends to curl up, compromising the sharpness of the enlargement.

Original Durst Femomasks are now available only as second-hand pairs and are often incomplete in collections. The symmetrical design solves this problem: you can either buy a complete new pair or reorder only the missing half individually. Manufactured at the Ausgeknipst workshop in Würzburg.
