Description

On the analogue Canon EOS series, the small back cover locking hook breaks due to age, and the camera can no longer be closed. This replacement part gets your EOS ready for use again. The linked video shows the installation step by step: unscrew the bottom plate, the front cover at the mount, and the hinge cover; remove the broken hook; attach the copper contacts to the new hook; hook the spring onto the pin of the new hook; and place the hook in its guide. The pin is a small screw and is already fitted in the hook. A small Phillips screwdriver is all you need; tweezers are helpful for hooking the spring into place. Since it is a small component, two pieces are included.
