On the classic Ihagee models in particular, the cloth shutter is often exposed and therefore prone to damage. This body cap closes off the bayonet so that the mirror box and shutter stay well protected on the shelf and in transit.
We make the cap in Germany. It engages precisely with the Exakta inner bayonet, just like the original.
