Description
On the Olympus mju II, sold in the USA as the Stylus Epic, the same part is almost always missing after thirty years: the battery compartment cover. It sits on a thin metal pin on the bottom of the body, the latch wears out a little more with every battery change, and at some point the cover gets caught while packing up. Without it, the CR123A slips out of the compartment while you carry the camera and the camera shuts off in the middle of a roll.
This cover is not a replica of the original. The latch geometry is designed to be tighter so that it stays closed in use. That comes at a price: it is harder to open than the original cover. To open it, place your fingernail at the bottom edge.
Made in-house in Würzburg, every cover is finished by hand and checked before shipping.

The new cover runs on the camera's original metal pin, no replacement pin is needed.
- Pull the metal pin on the battery compartment out downwards using needle-nose pliers or tweezers.
- Remove the old cover and place the new one in the same position.
- Push the pin back in upwards until it sits flush.
