The finder of your Nikon F2 and the structurally identical Nikon F is removable and modular. If you swap the standard prism finder for a waist-level finder or Action Finder, the removed part often lies around unprotected. This cover mimics the camera's finder mount and protects the sensitive underside with its glass and mechanics from scratches and dust during storage and transport.

Photomic FTn for Nikon F cover
There was allways problem how to cover and protect sensitive bottom of Photomic FTn prism when it was detached from Nikon F body.Solution was on Ausgeknipst page.Pretty good fit, though there was need for some minor filing of slots on cover to seat on pins on prism housing.
