The Zeiss Ikon Contaflex uses central shutter lenses with interchangeable front elements — Pro-Tessar (e.g., 35mm, 85mm, 115mm) and Pantar. As soon as you remove an interchangeable unit, its rear lens is exposed and needs a cap to keep it safe in your bag. This rear cap fits on the Contaflex bayonet and protects the optics from dust and dirt while resting and during transport.
