Description

You need a 55mm lens hood whenever obliquely entering light hits the front lens in backlight or low sun and spreads a veil across the image. You screw the hood directly into your lens's 55mm filter thread to shield this stray light before it reaches the glass.

It is dimensioned so that it causes no darkening in the image corners with classic standard focal lengths between 50mm and 57mm. At the same time, it acts as a buffer in front of the front lens and protects the glass from knocks and scratches.
