Safety Instructions

Even when using this quickload spool, the film start must be trimmed to about 10 cm length (known as the ABLON cut). Untrimmed film can damage the camera’s cloth shutter. Suitable templates are also available in our shop.

Description

The film spool is designed as an alternative for classic Barnack Leicas. It replaces the original metal spool and offers an advantage when loading: it does not need to be removed from the camera to load film. The film is gripped directly onto the spool inside the body. This saves time, works on the go without a surface to rest on, and reduces the risk of dropping the loose spool while handling.

If you don’t yet have a cutting template for the ABLON cut, choose the spool + trimmer variant, which includes the template.
