Without a lens mounted, the inside of your Konica's body is left unprotected. Dust on the mirror or in the shutter is annoying and expensive to clean. The body cap seals the mount light-tight and dust-tight and keeps your gear in the bag ready to use.
The cap clicks into the Konica AR mount and sits firmly, so it won't come loose during transport. Original Konica caps are hard to find these days, and this replacement fills the gap.
