Description
With this developing reel, you can develop 4x5 sheet film in your existing Paterson system without having to buy a dedicated large format tank system. In the Paterson Universal Tank (PTP115), the included light trap sits between the reel and the original funnel, so you can switch between developer, stop bath and fixer outside the darkroom in dimmed light.
In the larger Multi-Reel tanks (PTP116, PTP117, PTP118), the reel works without the light trap, directly with the original funnel. The tank remains light-tight in this configuration as well. The reel may have some play there and rattle, but this does not affect the light-tightness.

- In the dark (darkroom or changing bag), load the sheet films into the reel.
- Place the reel with the film in the tank and fit the light trap.
- Switch on dimmed light, fit the original funnel, pour in the developer and start timing, then stop bath and fixer as usual.
