The PX27 (also V27PX, Varta 7150, EPX27) was a 5.6V mercury battery used in, among others, the Minox 35 and the Rollei 35 SE. Original batteries are now hard to find or cost many times more. Here you can find the right adapter for your camera.

Two different adapters, one battery type
The PX27 was used in various camera series with different battery compartment geometries. That is why there are two specialized adapters instead of one universal solution:
- Minox 35 EL, GL, GT, PE, PL, Minox C and LX, as well as Rollei 35 LED, A110, and E110 → cylindrical adapter with 4x SR44 button cells
- Rollei 35 SE and 35 TE → rectangular Rollei holder with 4x SR44 button cells (plus 1x SR43 for tight battery compartments)
Attention: The rectangular Rollei holder is designed for the Rollei 35 SE and 35 TE and does not fit the Rollei 35 LED, A110, or E110. These three require the cylindrical adapter. Check which camera you have before ordering.

PX27 battery adapter for Minox 35
The cylindrical PX27 replacement for the Minox 35 and other cameras with PX27. The adapter holds four SR44 button cells, which provide 6.2V in total, and replaces the 5.6V PX27 mercury battery. Not suitable for the Minox 35 ML, MB, and M.D.C. (PX28), or for later models from 1988 onward such as the GT-E, GT-S, and GT-X (2x CR 1/3N).
What is included in the set?
The adapter comes complete with 4x SR44 button cells. You can start using it right away. SR44 silver-oxide batteries are widely available (at drugstores, watchmakers, and online) and cost just a few euros per set.

PX27 adapter for Rollei 35 SE and 35 TE
A rectangular battery holder designed for the Rollei 35 SE and 35 TE. The Rollei 35 LED also uses the PX27, but this holder does not fit inside it, nor does it fit the Rollei A110 or E110. The cylindrical adapter from section 1 is intended for these three. If the holder is too tight with four SR44s, replace one of them with the included SR43.
Important difference: Rollei 35 is not the same as Rollei 35
The earlier Rollei 35, 35 S, and 35 T use a PX625 battery (1.35 V). The later models 35 SE, 35 TE, and 35 LED use the PX27 at 5.6 V. If your Rollei 35 has an “S” or “T” in its name without an “E”, you need a PX625 adapter instead.

Good to know about the PX27
What was the PX27?
The PX27 was a cylindrical mercury battery with 5.6 V, a diameter of 12.7 mm, and a height of 20.5 mm. The Rollei manuals specify the Mallory PX 27 and the Varta V 27 PX (35 LED) or Varta 7150 (35 SE and 35 TE).
Why is the PX27 no longer available?
Like the PX625, the PX27 contained mercury. EU battery regulations allow a maximum of 0.0005% mercury by weight in a battery, so a mercury battery like the PX27 may no longer be sold. What is offered today under the name PX27 consists of mercury-free replacements: alkaline variants such as the 4LR43, whose voltage drops over time, and silver oxide variants such as the S27PX.
Why not simply insert four loose SR44 batteries?
Four SR44 batteries together provide 6.2 V, which comes close to the PX27’s 5.6 V. However, with a diameter of 11.6 mm, the button cells are thinner than the PX27 at 12.7 mm. When stacked loosely, they can shift in the compartment, making the contact unreliable. The adapter holds the cells securely on top of one another, without adhesive tape.
