Leica Barnack: Film-Cutting Template (ABLON)
Leica Barnack cameras (I, II, III, and all variants) require a specially shaped film leader. Without the correct contour, the film will jam in the camera or fail to thread. This template replaces the original Leica ABLON (No. 14126).
Why does the Barnack need a film trimmer?
Unlike modern cameras, film cannot simply be inserted into a Leica Barnack. The film leader must be cut to a tapered shape so it fits under the back and threads correctly onto the spool. Original Leica tools (ABLON) have not been produced for decades and cost three figures on the second-hand market. The combo version with Quick-Load Spool makes loading even faster.

110 Pocket Film & Subminiature Format
110 film is not available in bulk rolls. It must be cut from 35mm or 120 roll film. This cutter produces 16mm-wide strips, suitable for all 110 cameras from Pentax Auto 110 to Minolta 110 Zoom. The combo version also cuts 9.2mm strips for Minox.
Which source format is right?
- 35mm (Basic): Splits a 35mm roll lengthwise into two 9.2mm strips. Produces four 36-exposure Minox films plus two shorter films per roll. Most affordable option.
- 35mm + Minox (Combo): Cuts 110 and 9.2mm from a single roll of film. Ideal for those who shoot both formats.
- 120 Roll Film (Pro): Produces up to six strips per roll. For high-volume photographers and laboratories.

Minox 8x11: 9.2mm film cutter
Minox cameras (B, C, BL, LX, EC, and all 8x11 models) require 9.2mm-wide film. Ready-made Minox cassettes are rare and expensive. This cutter lets you cut commercially available 35mm, 120, or even 16mm film to Minox width, in complete darkness thanks to the safety cover.
Four source formats, one cutter
The Minox cutter has a modular design. The variant determines the source format. The cutting mechanism remains identical. 35mm is used most often: one 35mm roll is cut lengthwise into two 9.2mm strips, yielding four 36-exposure Minox films plus two shorter films. The 120 variant is more economical for high throughput (six strips per roll).

35mm film cutter for film loaders
Anyone loading 35mm film from bulk rolls into their own cartridges (with AP, Legacypro or Watson film loaders) needs a clean cut at the film leader. This template creates the correct leader contour so the film feeds into any film loader and any 35mm camera.
Save money by loading your own film
Bulk film (30m rolls) costs a fraction per exposure compared with ready-made cartridges. A 36-exposure roll of Fomapan 100 from a 30m roll costs approximately EUR 2–3 in materials instead of EUR 6–8 for a ready-made cartridge. The cutting template ensures that the film leader sits correctly, with no crumpling or tangling.
