Who we are: From studying to founding a company

It all began when Antonio (right) gave me (Vladi, left) a Minolta 7xi and awakened my love of analog photography. Five years of studying plastics engineering, founding a company, and a lot of hard work lie between then and now, culminating today in our small online shop: www.ausgeknipst.de.

Our mission: Make analog photography accessible to everyone

In a world overwhelmed by digital technologies, our goal is not merely to keep analog photography alive, but also to breathe new life into it. We know from experience how frustrating it can be when you can no longer find an accessory or replacement part for a beloved but older camera. That is why we offer a wide range of accessories for analog cameras: batteries and battery adapters, light seals, and lens caps are among our bestsellers. 

We currently have more than 400 original products in our range, and there are more every week. We largely design what we ourselves and our customers, who regularly send us product suggestions, need.
We consciously avoid common “Chinaware” and manufacture everything ourselves. Our product range covers famous camera series such as Leica M & LTM, Canon A, Nikon F, Olympus OM, Minolta SRT and X, and Hasselblad 500, as well as “niche” models such as the Nikon Nikonos underwater cameras. 

Every product is designed, manufactured, and tested for quality and functionality at our facility in the heart of Franconia, ensuring that it meets the needs of passionate photographers.

We sell our quality parts “made in Germany” internationally, helping users around the world keep their analog treasures in working order.

Light seals

Almost every analog camera bought online has porous light seals that need to be replaced, as otherwise they can cause light leaks and, in the worst case, render all your photos unusable. Having the light seals replaced by a professional can quickly cost €50 or more, and waiting times are also getting longer. The alternative: do it yourself with our universal light-seal kit.

It fits all common 35mm SLR cameras, whether a Canon AE-1, Minolta X-700, or Olympus OM-1, and includes not only the new seals but also the accessories needed for the replacement, such as tweezers with a scraper and a shutter curtain protector.

Batteries & battery adapters

Once the light seals have been replaced, analogue photographers usually face another problem: batteries that could be bought in every camera shop 30 years ago are now difficult to find or may no longer be sold because they contain toxic mercury. 

That is why we sell Battery adapters for the most common models, allowing standard button cells and hearing-aid batteries to be used in the correct format.

Another major part of our business is the original design and manufacture of Accessories for popular analogue cameras. The image above shows, for example, a Leica M3 with (from left to right): hand grip, quick-release spool, lens hood, rewind lever, thumb rest, flash sync socket covers, rubber eyecup, and our film box for 3 × 35mm films.
