- A replacement for the discontinued V74PX: The original 15V battery is no longer made. This adapter brings shelved flash units and light meters back into service.
- Standard button cells instead of a specialty battery: You use 10x AG10 (LR54), available at any drugstore. When cells run flat, just swap them out and keep using the adapter.
- Exactly the original voltage: Together, the 10 AG10 cells deliver the 15 V required by the V74PX (also known as LP90 or 10LR54).
- Fits like the original: At 34.9 mm x 15.1 mm, the adapter matches the dimensions of the V74PX exactly. It drops straight into the battery compartment with no modification needed.

Description
Description
This battery adapter replaces the 15 V V74PX battery (also sold as LP90, 10LR54, 504, MN154 or BLR154) in light meters such as the Gossen Sixton and in flash units such as the Nikon BC-7 or the Rollei 16S flash. It holds ten AG10 button cells (LR54), which together deliver the same 15 V as the original.
Finding a replacement for the V74PX is tough: it’s no longer made and you simply can’t get hold of one anymore. AG10 cells, on the other hand, are available at any drugstore, so you no longer have to rely on overpriced old stock with hardly any power left.
At 34.9 mm x 15.1 mm, the adapter matches the dimensions of the V74PX and drops in without any further modification, for example into the Gossen Sixton light meter.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Why do I need 15 volts? The V74PX was the standard cell in older light meters and measuring instruments that need a high voltage at a tiny current. The adapter produces the 15V from ten AG10 cells, which together deliver the same voltage as the original.
Are the cells included, and how do I get more? Ten AG10 cells come with the adapter. You can buy replacements from us as a refill pack or from regular stores; the cells are also sold as LR54.
Will the adapter physically fit my device? It measures 34.9 x 15.1 mm, the same as the original V74PX. It also replaces the LP90, 10LR54, 504, MN154 and BLR154. If your battery’s designation isn’t listed, just drop us a line.

Looking for innovative solutions instead of mass-produced gear? With us, you’re not buying from an anonymous wholesaler but directly from the founders. We (Anto & Vladi) started our business in Würzburg in October 2021 to help you bring film photography back to life.
Designed by engineers
Engineered in Würzburg
We don’t sell anything we wouldn’t use ourselves. We’re engineers and camera nerds, and we know that precision matters, especially with camera gear. That’s why we design our parts ourselves in Würzburg, and we make and assemble most of them here too. Batteries and rechargeables are bought in from suppliers such as Varta.
