  • Slip-on filter thread: The adapter fits over the extended lens barrel and accepts any screw-in filter with a 30.5 mm thread.
  • Color and neutral-density filters supported: Yellow, orange, and red filters for black-and-white film, or neutral-density filters when 1/500 s at f/16 is no longer enough.
  • Secure fit on the barrel: Clamps onto the lens barrel of Minox 35 models from the GT onward with a diameter of 31.9 mm.

Safety information

The adapter and filter must be removed before retracting the lens. If you close the camera with the adapter attached, you will damage the mechanism.

Compatibility

The Minox 35 comes with two different lens barrel sizes. This adapter is designed for the larger one (approximately 31.8 to 32 mm), so it fits all models from the GT onward:

Does not fit the Minox 35 EL or Minox 35 GL. Their lens barrel is approximately 1 mm thinner (about 30.5 to 31 mm), so the adapter is too loose. Minox sold a dedicated filter series for these two models at the time. The Minox 35 AF does not have a slip-on lens barrel at all.

Description

The Minox 35 does not have a filter thread from the factory. Minox sold dedicated slip-on filters with integrated lens hoods for it, which are now only available used and at collector prices. There is another potential pitfall: the lens barrel changed with the GT, and since then there have been two filter sizes that are not interchangeable.

This adapter replaces the original for the larger of the two designs. Slip it on, screw in any 30.5 mm filter, and you're ready to go. Filters in this size are readily available both new and used.
