Stray light from above falls on the film and reflects off its surface. This reduces the contrast of your scans. The Hood Modul M blocks this light before it reaches the film.
You slide it into the Top Plate via the slide-in rail system, where it holds securely. It fits all 35mm Top Plates: Standard (24×36mm), Half Frame (18×24mm) and Panorama X-Pan (24×65mm). With the two Extension Tubes (40mm and 60mm) you adjust the height to your lens: shorter lenses need more tubes, longer ones reach further down and get by with fewer.
