Description
If your Kiev 88 TTL prism (type A) is missing the right battery, this battery adapter gets the light meter working again right away. It replaces the original 4RZ-53 battery, which is often no longer available, as well as unreliable makeshift solutions: put four LR44 cells into the adapter, insert the adapter into the prism's battery compartment, done. This permanently secures the 6V power supply for the light meter.
Four LR44 cells are already included; you can get replacements at any drugstore or online.

How do I know whether I need type A or type B? Over the years, the Kiev 88 prisms were made in several designs that differ in their battery compartment. This adapter is for type A, with a diameter of 16 mm and a height of 30 mm. Measure the compartment or send us a photo, and we'll tell you which one fits.
How many batteries go in? Four LR44 cells, which together provide 6V. They are included. A note on this: in later prisms, three individual button cells go directly into the battery compartment. Those prisms don't need an adapter at all; you simply insert three loose LR44 or SR44 cells. This adapter is for the older design with the single-piece 4RZ-53 stick battery.
Do I need to modify the prism? No. The adapter goes into the existing compartment in place of the old battery; nothing is altered or drilled.
