Description
The right battery for your Canon AE-1, AE-1 Program, or A-1: This adapter lets you power it with four standard LR44 or SR44 button cells instead of a single 4LR44 (PX28). It sits in the battery compartment and provides the 6V the camera requires. This way you can bring a camera back to life if it had been taken out of service due to a lack of a suitable battery.

Installation note
On some Canon AE-1 Program cameras, the spring-loaded pin in the bottom of the battery compartment slips into the opening of the adapter's eyelet instead of pressing against a battery contact. The camera then receives no power. In this case, turn the cells in the adapter 180° and also insert the adapter rotated 180°. The polarity remains the same, but the pin makes direct contact with a battery terminal. This allows the adapter to remain installed permanently.

Can I use SR44 instead of LR44? Yes. SR44 cells are silver oxide cells, maintain a more stable voltage, and last longer. They cost a little more but have the same dimensions and fit the same adapter.

Hallo Lothar, schade, dass der Adapter an deiner SQ-Am nicht lief, und danke für den Hinweis auf die V28PX. Die Ursache kennen wir noch nicht sicher. Bei der SQ-Am versorgt die 6-Volt-Zelle nur den Verschluss, der Motor läuft über eigene Mignonzellen. Wenn du magst, schreib uns an info@ausgeknipst.de, dann gehen wir dem gemeinsam nach.
